Debbie Crohn

Head of Digital Transformation - Digital Health and Care
Scottish Government

Debs is currently Head of Digital Transformation within Scottish Governments Digital Health and Care Directorate. Having held several strategic roles I have a strong understanding of how the health and social care system functions both on a national and local level and how national policies affect the work of the sector.

Currently on secondment from NHS Orkney where her substantive post is Head of Digital Transformation and IT, Debs has over 25 years’ experience of working on large, complex transformation programmes across Health and Social Care and recently led Scottish Governments digital workstream of the COVID-19 vaccination programme developing and implementing Scotland’s

  • National Vaccination Scheduling and online booking system
  • COVID-19 Status app
  • Protect Scotland app
  • Check-in Scotland app
  • Vaccination Management Tool used for the recording of vaccinations
  • National Contact Centre

Collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, partners and suppliers, I have championed a new approach to Digital Delivery across Health and Care, placing customers at its heart and ensuring our service is user-centric and easily accessible. The COVID-19 vaccination programme is a modern, award-winning change programme winning the Holyrood Connect Programme and Project Management of the year award 2022, Team of the Year award – Scottish Health and Care Awards and Digital Health and Care Awards 2022 and was nominated in the Best Use of Data and Technology category at the Civil Service Awards 2022.

I am proud to be working with Scottish Government supporting the Transformation of Health and Care services. I see this as a truly unique opportunity to safely and securely design, build and implement new services, working collaboratively with our customers to ensure what we deliver meets the needs of people here in Scotland.
