A Staffordshire University graduate with a clinical background in Emergency Care and 7 years’ experience in the RAF reserve, Emily Browne is the Associate Dean for Innovation and Enterprise at Staffordshire University and is passionate about simulation-based education and patient safety.

Emily’s research interests are around simulation, studying the confidence and competence of practitioners and improving the care and safety of patients. Emily specialises in creating interprofessional immersive simulation exercises, enhancing innovative thinking through real-time simulation and debriefing exercises promoting learning and working across multi-disciplinary fields, using human factors principles in real-time simulation.

Through her role at Staffordshire University, Emily works to support innovation within both healthcare technology development for organisations, practitioners and students across the health and social care sector, focusing on the development of innovations that will enhance patient safety and simulation-based education while promoting technological developments that improve patient safety and the experience of patients and their families.
